Dr. Jorge Garavito Rentería
Chief Medical Officer
Renowned Peruvian gastroenterologist and current Head of the Gastroenterology Department at Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza. He founded both the Functional Liver Unit and the first Digestive Hemorrhage Unit at MINSA (2023). He is Past President of the Peruvian Association for the Study of the Liver (APEH, 2023–2024), and currently serves as Vice President of the Organizing Committee for ALEH 2025 (Latin American Congress of Hepatology).
He represented Peru as a fellow at the Francophone Digestive Pathology Symposium (SNFGE) and completed advanced clinical training in hepatic diseases at Hospital Beaujon and non-invasive fibrosis assessment at Hospital De la Pitié Salpêtrière in Paris.
Academically, he is a professor at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), where he coordinates the Gastroenterology Residency Program and holds a Master’s in Medicine with a focus on Gastroenterology.
